High Volume High Pressure Oil like never before! We've gone outside of the box to design the new Overdrive unit. By increasing the RPMs of your stock pump, it increases the volume ouput to force a more complete fuel delivery with each injector cycle. More fuel with less smoke, more boost, more power - STOCK PUMP. No core required because you can use your own pump behind this unit! Early or late model, the Adrenaline or the PULSE. Configurations are endless. Unfortunately, your low pressure oil isn't. So the standard unit will be geared to produce slightly more than a PULSE even with an early model (15*) pump. So don't worry, if you need it - we've got more oil for you.
PUT YOUR STOCK HIGH PRESSURE OIL PUMP INTO OVERDRIVE WITH OUR NEW OVERDRIVE GEAR ASSEMBLY FOR USE WITH ANY 7.3L HPOP. STICK IT IN FRONT OF YOUR STOCK EARLY MODEL (15*), LATE MODEL (17*) OR EVEN YOUR NEW ADRENALINE FOR SOME SERIOUS VOLUME! SEE HOW IT IS INSTALLED IN PIC BELOW. The Overdrive is a gear assembly that mounts in front of your stock HPOP. It uses OEM gaskets for a no leak solution. Standard Overdrive units are geared at 1.66:1 for high pressure oil volumes that can exceed even our own large bore pump (The PULSE) when installed with a early model 15* stock unit. But, you can get your choice of several gearset ratios if the need arises. These are customizable and upgradeable. Get the volumes of high pressure oil we've been needing in these trucks without messy setups. This new "outside of the box" creation forces a more complete fuel delivery for maximum horsepower results. This changes EVERYTHING. |

The Ford 7.3L Powerstroke OEM High Pressure Oil Pump - HPOP - is a fixed displacement oil pump. That means for every rotation of the engine, the pump displaces “x” amount of oil. We put your HPOP into Overdrive with a mechanical power transmission to increase the speed of the pump per engine rpm in the same manner that your automatic transmission increases the wheel speed of your truck. That means the same engine speed produces the new increased amount of oil.
Thinking that sounds hard on your pump? Considering that the 6.0L, I530 and I466 trucks all spin at RPMs considerably higher than what your 7.3L is currently running with virtually the same pump - that's already been answered. They've done the testing for us.
Won't this make too much pressure for my truck? That's a pretty common question. Let us give you a little education on pumps. This should eliminate your worry about excessive pressure (unless you have an irresponsible programmer). PUMPS MAKE VOLUME, they don't make pressure. Your injectors and programming create the restrictions for pressures you see. You can have a tiny pump or a large pump and they both will try to reach the desired pressures your programming is asking for. If your pump is too small, it just keeps working harder to reach what it can never attain and you see your duty cycles climbing. If the pump is bigger than you need, you stop building pressures when you've reached the requested amount and the rest simply dumps back into your pan. Your pump will NEVER give you more pressures than your programmer has asked for. PERIOD. Changing pumps will only hurt your truck if you have poor programming. Stay away from excessive ICP Pressures!
Twenty units will be in trucks this month, so watch for their results. We'll be posting up pics, so if you want to see anything special or you want to try something completely outside of the box for your truck - give us a call. The Overdrive sells for $999. The maximum Overdrive units will be $1499. You're more than welcome to pre-order now. AS ALWAYS, NO FREE UNITS FOR BETA TESTERS.

The Overdrive units are complete billet aluminum exteriors with internal ball bearings and billet steel driveline and gearsets. We started with a design of gear that exceeded a 10,000 hour rating and engineered it to fit into the 7.3L. The Overdrive has been running in Bob's truck since before the Adrenaline prototypes were shipped out in October of 2008. In the photo above you can see the prototype unit slapped into the truck with mocked up oil lines and clunky fittings. It didn't much matter to Bob what it looked like that night as he was in disbelief that the design worked on the first run. He was pretty used to pumps blowing up left and right. This was a joint effort between Mr. and Mrs. (her concept and internals - his design and engineering) and when it worked on the first try when they tested it on the stand, "he" was out the door installing it in his truck after a quick "now what" from "her". He's had it in and out of the vehicle several times to test the Adrenaline and the PULSE at the pulling track, but this has definitely become his "choice" of pump solutions Now with large or small pistons, three choices of swash plates and several gearset choices, he likes to build different configurations and test them out. He has complete flexibility to build virtually any size "pump".
And YES, Bob has had the 3X Maximum Overdrive in his truck - for about an hour. These units do exist and they work. Results: NO LOW PRESSURE OIL WHATSOEVER ANYWHERE IN THE ENGINE. Shameless Plug: Thanks AMSOIL!
If you're thinking that volume is volume, get ready for some different results when you journey "outside the box". Our first non-company test victim was SPEECHLESS after the swap to the Overdrive from his Adrenaline. (and the Adrenaline was giving him all the oil he needed). While he was coming down from the Adrenaline rush he got from the Overdrive (pardon the pun) we even had him put the PULSE back into his truck to verify that our Overdrive with his Stage I DIY injectors gave performance gains that he never realized or thought possible. As expected, each pump was capable of reaching the requested 3200 PSI. Still there was very little difference between the PULSE and the Adrenaline - he had his oil and had it quickly in both cases. However, while the Overdrive showed the same 3200 PSI final destination, it increased his boost by over 3 lbs. (from 29+ to 33 lbs.) with a reduction in smoke. The Overdrive forces more complete fuel delivery for better atomization and it obviously showed on his boost gauge. I don't think he'll be going back to an Adrenaline. :-) BTW: That Overdrive was installed on his truck with a 500,000 mile early model (15*) pump out of a 1995 truck that one of his construction buddies drove for years.
REMEMBER: PUMPS MAKE VOLUME, NOT PRESSURE
