Install a Wicked Wheel ™

Wicked WheelThis addition is known for its improvement in overall truck performance. It works by increasing airflow and lowering exhaust temperatures. If you use your truck for towing, the Wicked Wheel ™ is an excellent mod for mid-range torque and it eliminates turbo stall. It's a fairly inexpensive part and easy to install if you dedicate 4-5 hours to it. Many truck owners claim that it's the best minor addition for your truck. The Wicked Wheel ™ is made for Fords only, specifically a 7.3L Ford. It's an inexpensive option when compared with a ported compressor housing or a new ball bearing turbo, both of which are more expensive investments. You'll save money by going with this modification, a registered trademark of Bob Riley and DieselSite.com.

Control boost pressure with a turbo wastegate controller

Turbo WastegateLike many truck owners, you're probably interested in maximizing your boost while protecting your engine. You may be thinking about adjusting the turbo wastegate control arm to get more boost or help the turbine cool down. It's vital you use a thermocouple to monitor your EGT (exhaust gas temperature) so you won't damage your turbo, or other parts. If the exhaust gases are trapped and it gets too hot, you run the risk of straightening or even melting the turbine blades. Your diesel engine will respond exponentially to fuel and air with increasing horsepower but don't get too greedy. If you can't disperse the exhaust gases quickly enough, the high heat can kill your engine. We encourage you to use a turbo wastegate controller to safely manage the speed at which your boost responds. A good rule of thumb is to keep your EGT below 1250 degrees.
